Paul Niven

Paul Niven is Head of Multi-Asset Solutions, EMEA. He joined Columbia Threadneedle in 2021 through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA), having previously been with BMO since 1996. Paul leads the firm’s multi-asset investment proposition in EMEA, manages a range of mandates, including the F&C Investment Trust, which he has managed since 2014, and oversees the Universal MAP range of funds. He also chairs the Asset Allocation Strategy Group. Previously, he was Managing Director, Multi-Asset Solutions at BMO GAM, with responsibility for strategic and tactical portfolio construction across a range of multi-asset portfolios, as well as manager selection for several institutional mandates. During his 25 years with BMO GAM and predecessor firms, he held a variety of senior asset allocation and strategy roles. Paul holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Economics and an MPhil in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and is a member of the CFA Institute UK.
