Alain Grisay
Alain Grisay is Chief Executive Officer of F&C and a member of the Board. He joined the Board on completion of the F&C/ISIS merger in October 2004 having previously been Deputy Chief Executive of F&C and Head of Institutional Business. Prior to joining F&C in March 2001, Alain was at JPMorgan for 20 years, serving as Managing Director responsible for the investment bank’s market client business in Europe. Alain was appointed an Executive Director of Friends Provident plc on 1 January 2006. He is a Belgian national and holds a Masters degree in Law from the University of Louvain (Belgium) and a Masters degree in International Economics and Politics from The Johns Hopkins University (Washington DC).
Nick Criticos
Nick Criticos is Chief Executive Officer of F&C REIT and a member of the Executive Committee. He joined the Board on completion of the F&C/REIT merger in September 2008. Prior to this he held the position of F&C Head of UK Retail, Investment Trusts and Marketing and is a member of the Executive Committee of F&C. He was also a previous Board member of the Investment Management Association. He joined ISIS and the F&C Board following the ISIS acquisition of RSAI in July 2002 where he held the position of Managing Director of the Retail Business. Prior to this he was CEO of Protea Life Company in South Africa. Nick Criticos holds a Business Science (honours) degree from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He also completed the Advance Management Programme at Harvard in 1995.
Fernando Ribeiro
Fernando de Figueiredo Ribeiro is Head of Advisory & Strategic Relationships at F&C and a member of the Executive Committee. He joined the company in 2001 following the merger of the asset management activities of AF Investimentos (Portugal) Achmea Global Investors (Netherlands), and Foreign & Colonial. Before taking his current role he was responsible for Retail Portfolio Management till 2002 and then for Insurance Portfolios, ALM and for the launch of F&C’s Alternative business. Fernando has over 16 years of investment management experience. As Chief Investment Officer at AFI he managed a team of 35 fund managers, analysts and dealers which controlled assets of €20 billion. Fernando has a degree in Economics and an MBA from the New University of Lisbon.
David Logan
David Logan is the Chief Financial Officer at F&C, having joined the Group in July 2006. Prior to this, David was a Partner in the Insurance and Investment Management Division at Deloitte and prior to that a Partner at Arthur Andersen from 1999 until 2002. David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and has over ten years of experience in the field of asset management.
Cristobal Mendez de Vigo
Cristobal Mendez de Vigo is Group Head of Distribution and Business Development of F&C, and a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to joining F&C in 2007, he was at Allianz Global Investors for 11 years, serving lastly as Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Global Investors in Australia and Head of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong earlier. He is a Spanish national and holds a Masters degree in Law and Economics from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE, Spain).
Richard Wilson is Head of Equities. He joined F&C in 2004. Prior to F&C, Richard spent a year as Head of International Equity Investments at Gartmore and the previous 10 years at Deutsche Asset Management (formerly Morgan Grenfell Asset Management) in several fund management roles, latterly as Managing Director in Global Equities. Richard started his investment career in 1988 at HSBC Asset Management as a Fund Manager. Richard has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Statistics from the University of Exeter.
Jacob de Wit is Head of Fixed Income. He joined F&C in 2005. Jacob was previously Managing Director of Netherlands-based SNS Asset Management with a prior role as Head of Fixed Income since 2001. Prior to this, Jacob spent three years as Head of Fixed Income for AXA Investment Managers whilst also managing the Global Fixed Income team with responsibility for clients in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. At AXA he was a member of the Fixed Income Management Committee and a member of the Fixed Income Forecasting Group. Jacob previously worked for UAP as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager for four years. Jacob has a degree in Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam and is a certified EFFAS financial analyst.
