Ethical & Sustainable Investment Funds

F&C’s Stewardship range of funds are ethical funds that invest in companies that make a positive contribution to society through “positive screens” that tap into key growth opportunities, whilst seeking to avoid companies whose activities can harm society or the natural environment. The funds have independent oversight from an external ethical investment committee.

F&C’s Ethical Bond Fund launched in 2007, it favours companies making a positive contribution to society as well as furthering sustainable development and screen for those taking positive action to improve the environment, conserve resources and operate a transparent and open way in the reporting of their business activities.

F&C’s Global Climate Opportunities Fund is a thematic fund focusing on companies that are providing solutions to the global challenges presented by climate change. The fund has nine investment themes: alternative energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, waste, advanced materials, forestry & agriculture, water, acclimatisation and support services.

F&C’s Emerging Market Equity ESG Strategy seeks to invest in companies in the emerging markets that are contributing to, or substantially benefiting from sustainable development trends. The strategy is built around six sustainable investment themes: infrastructure for development, financing the future, rise of the low income consumer, human capital, access to new technologies and energy for growth. After qualifying under the positive sustainable investment themes, all companies are required to meet specific minimum standards for good corporate governance and sustainable operating practices.
