The value of your investments can go down as well as up, and you may not get back what you originally invested.

  • Performance

    • Both portfolios provide exposure to global equities.
    • Thematic exposure-including biotechnology and technology, as well as "alternative" sectors such as infrastructure.
    • Income shares and Growth shares NAV total return ahead of the FTSE All-Share over the three and five years to 30 November 2016 and from launch to November 2016.
    • Company aims to maintain the share price discount to NAV at not more than 5%, if necessary, by buying back shares from time to time.
    • In the last financial year to 31 May 2016, the Income shares traded at an average premium of 0.9% to NAV and the Growth shares at an average premium of 1.2% to NAV.

What is Net Asset Value (NAV)?

Each investment trust calculates the Net Asset Value of a share by adding up the value of all the securities owned by the trust divided by the number of outstanding shares. The NAV can be viewed as the amount of money investors would receive per share if all of the securities owned by a trust were sold and distributed to the shareholders.

    Share price

The value of your holding is calculated using the share price. This does not always reflect the underlying value of the share portfolio held by the investment trust. Depending on supply and demand for the investment trust, it can trade at a discount or premium to net asset value.
