What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) allows you to see when new content, which you are subscribed to, has been posted online. You can receive the latest entries into your desktop or browser, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the F&C blog.
To receive content feeds, you will need an RSS reader. An RSS reader is a piece of software that checks these feeds and lets you view any new blog content that has been added.
How do I receive an RSS feed?
RSS feeds can be received via browser-based news readers (for example: Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla firefox, Safari) and lets you receive RSS feeds on any computer. Or you can receive them via downloadable applications (for example: Newsgater, My Yahoo!, Google Reader, Microsoft Live) which let you receive and store the feeds on your computer.
I want to subscribe to an RSS feed
First you will need an internet connection and an RSS reader. By selecting the RSS icon within the blog the F&C blog RSS feed will be added to your default RSS reader and will subsequently start to receive all published blog content when available.
You can also subscribe to RSS feeds by:
- Dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader.
- Cutting and pasting the URL of the RSS feed - http://www.fandc.com/blog/syndication.axd into your news reader.
You are also able to access all previous blog entries in the F&C blog RSS feed from within your feed toolbar in the browser or news reader.
When I click on the RSS icon I receive lots of text?
You may not have an RSS feeder available within your current browser or installed in your computer. If your current browser does not support RSS you may have to install a downloadable application into your computer and then add the above URL of the RSS feed into the reader.
